Record-Anything, as it is obvious from its title, is a nice application that will let you record any sound you want. The application is very easy to use and configure due to its simplicity, most likely it was primarily oriented to novices; still, the quality of recorded files will also satisfy professional users.
The application lets you choose the input channel to record from. You will be able to record music or sound played by any Windows program choosing the WaveOut Mix or Stereo Mix channel; through the Microphone you will be able to record voice, and to record sound from any other device connected to your sound card you will need to choose the Line-in channel. Also you will be allowed to set MP3 encoding quality (the program records sound only in MP3 format) its sample rate and bit rate. The Input volume, which is very important for the quality of the resulted file, is adjustable as well. If you are a novice and do not know what the best volume for you is, you may use the sound optimizer wizard that will do everything automatically for you.
After you have configured the application, just click once on the program icon in the system tray, or choose the Record Now option in the right-click menu, and the program will start recording sound. And after you stop recording the sound, you will be offered to save the file to a desired folder and specify the MP3 tag info.
